Fotografieprijs voor Diego Goldberg

Argentina's Diego Goldberg, 60, won the New Journalism CEMEX-FNPI Award and US$25,000 for «Chasing a Dream: The Forgotten Faces,» a U.N.-sponsored photo collection chronicling the struggles of eight youths in eight different countries.

Associated Press photographer Rodrigo Abd was honored as a finalist in the photo competition for his gripping images of gangs in Guatemala.

The New Journalism CEMEX-FNPI Award was created in 2002 by Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The foundation behind the awards is based in Cartagena, Colombia. The awards are sponsored by Cementos Mexicanos (Cemex), Latin America's largest cement producer.
